MMM Geckos - Black Pearl

We would like to introduce our latest project, the Black Pearl.

Opportunities like this are few and far between, especially for UK breeders, so when a good friend Sam (TSGeckos)

called us regarding the acquisition of a Black Pearl we really couldn't say no. Bringing both of our collections together

for this project really would allow us to explore this fascinating morph. And so the Black Pearl was brought to the UK.

We still can't believe it. Pictures really do not do this morph any justice. To appreciate the true beauty one must see them

in the flesh. 2010 will be a very exciting year for both us and TSGeckos. The pictures show the Black Pearl in it's sub

adult stage, we are extremely excited to watch how this morph changes as it grows.

Over the years many people have randomly hatched dark "melanistic" geckos, but to have a gene that produces such a

vast amount of concentrated dark pigment is a massive head start.

The Urban Gecko have likened adult Black Pearls to Black Panthers, and this is a perfect description. The Black Pearl

as an adult expresses a velvety black appearance where the patterning underneath shows through.
